It’s not difficult to take out just two minutes for your feet before sleeping. Simply wash your feet before sleeping, and massage them with some coconut oil. If possible, use organic coconut oil. You will see the difference in the appearance of your feet within two weeks.
Apply lemon juice mixed with some honey once or twice a week just for 5 – 10 minutes, and it will reduce the darkness of the feet which is the result of sun exposure.
Just like our face, our feet also keep on accumulating the dirt, dust and a layer of dead skin cells. Exfoliation once a week can help to get rid of all these issues from the feet while making them soft and smooth.
As most of us don’t apply a sunscreen on our feet, they tend to get tanned. Thus, it’s vital that you apply an anti-tanning pack on your feet once a week. You can get a natural pack from the market, or mix some besan (gram flour) with a little turmeric, a pinch of salt, lemon juice, yogurt and a few drops of coconut oil. Clipping toenails too short may let dirt and bacteria accumulate at the side of the nails. So, don’t cut the nails too short and exfoliate them once a week with a toothbrush dipped in a baking soda solution. It will keep your nails white, healthy and clean.
While going out in dirt and mud, if you would wear closed footwear, they will protect your feet and stop dirt from accumulating on them. Also, when you are at your home, don’t walk bare feet. Wear your bathroom slippers to keep your feet clean, and the bacteria away.
Soaking your feet in hot water for too long can rip them off from the natural oils, and make them look very dry. So, even if you want to dip your feet in water to get relaxed, ensure that you do it for a short duration and the water is not too hot.
